Happy Holidays 2009

Posted in Holidays, Travel on December 24th, 2009 by Kimberly – Comments Off

I’m notoriously terra-bad at keeping any sort a dedicated schedule to my public blog updates. Needless to say I am currently back home visiting family down near DC where they apparently had about two feet of snow last week. Yes, two freakin’ feet in the tri-state area. Insanity! Either way I’ll be spending the holidays getting my butt in gear and working on some projects of mine in the online world, so hopefully there will be something a little more substantial here soon.

Merry holidays, everyone. :)

Yankee Candle

Know what’s always a great pick me up? Yankee Candles!

Yankee Candles

Yankee Candles

Yesterday I went by the mall and picked up two of their fall-scented candles: Spiced Pumpkin and Macintosh Spice to add to my old Autumn Wreath scent I bought last year and hadn’t used completely up. I’ve had the two burning pretty much all day today and yesterday and now the apartment smells awesome and happy (if happy can be a smell). I also picked up Clean Laundry as a scent for my car. :3 Nothing like having the smell of fresh laundry when you hop in the car for your ride to classes in the morning. For those of you who haven’t sniffed Yankee Candles I suggest you do. They seriously smell exactly like whatever

The weather’s getting cold and fast here in Rochester. We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow, but we’ll see. Rochester weather is ridiculous; it could be sunny and 80F tomorrow and blizzarding the next.

Disney World!

I decided to book my boyfriend and myself a vacation a few days ago to dun dun dunnnnn!

The Happiest Place on Earth

Disney World! :D I haven’t been to Disney World since I was a little kid and hardly remember it so this will almost be like a first time vacation for me there. My boyfriend’s been there before when he was in middle school, but regardless this is the first time for both of us going together as a couple rather than with our families. I’m quite excited!

Coronado Springs Resort

We’re staying for 7 days and 6 nights at the Coronado Springs Resort on Disney property! I bought us tickets to see all the main theme parks including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. We’ve also got tickets to check out the two water parks as well! ^___^

I’m sitting here super excited since I haven’t been on a serious vacation since senior year of high school let alone one I planned myself.  We’re leaving on August 30th! Hopefully the weather will be nice and we’ll have a great time. I’ll be sure to take tons of pictures and share ‘em when I return!

Additionally I’m in the final week of my internship now. My boyfriend’s driving up as I type this to stay the week and help me pack and move back to Rochester on Friday night. Hopefully we’ll be able to check out some fun stuff around Boston so he’s not bored here while I’m at work and he’s stuck in my house alone.

Time Limit MB is slowly getting repopulated with awesome people. The forums are still relatively new, but if you’re looking for a laid back and fun place to post, this might be the place for you. I shamelessly plug, I know. :D

Happy 233rd Birthday, USA!

Happy Birthday to the United States of America!

Ok, so I’m a day late. I just got back a few hours ago from my flight. I left Wednesday night back to Rochester, NY to celebrate the 4th of July with my boyfriend. We didn’t do anything spectacular minus grill some hamburgers and hotdogs and enjoy the afternoon together, but it was still nice to go back to Rochester for the first time since I arrived in Boston a month ago. After being gone a month I realize how much I really do miss being in Rochester. Where I live in Rochester is very suburban and we’re very close to tons of farms and vast, open spaces with trees, flowing fields, and tons of wild flowers. In Boston, I live near a busy street in a crowded housing area where there’s always noise. Perks to both, I suppose.

I’m already trying to figure out when I can next get my butt back down to Rochester. :)
